A plate compactor machine is the cheapest insurance on a UAE site. Sand and crushed stone look solid when they are levelled and are nothing of the sort until the voids are driven out of them. Skip that and the interlock dips, the slab cracks at the edge, and the road base rutted under the first loaded truck.

90, 120, 160 and 200 kg — Which Size Do You Need?
The range runs across four weight classes, and every one of them is available in petrol or diesel. Weight is what sets compaction depth, so size the machine to the layer you are compacting rather than to the biggest number in the catalogue — a heavier plate on bedding sand only makes it harder to manoeuvre.
90 kg
The general-purpose machine. Bedding sand under interlock and kerbs, backfill around slabs, light sub-base on driveways and yards.
120 kg
A step up in depth without a step up in handling. Where the 90 kg needs too many passes but a 160 kg is more machine than the access allows.
160 kg
Road base that will carry loaded traffic, and large open areas where passes cost real time.
200 kg
The heaviest of the range, for deep lifts and specified compaction on road and infrastructure work.

The general-purpose machine. Small enough for one person to handle around a villa plot, heavy enough for bedding sand and light sub-base. This is the diesel build, which owes nothing to the site supply; the same 90 kg class is available in petrol.

How to Choose
Plate Compactor or Tamping Rammer?
The two machines are not interchangeable, and picking wrong is the most common reason a compaction test fails. A plate spreads its force across a wide base and vibrates fast — that is what granular material wants. A rammer concentrates high impact through a small foot, which is what cohesive clay and silt need, and it fits in a trench where a plate cannot turn.
Open area in sand or gravel: plate compactor. Narrow trench, or clay: see tamping rammers. Large areas of road base or asphalt: walk behind roller compactors.
