The Baylorr BAY-SDR300-H is a walk behind single drum roller powered by a Honda GX160 engine, with a 425 × 600 mm drum delivering 16 kN of exciting force at 70 Hz vibratory frequency. Total weight is approximately 300 kg, maximum travel speed is 0–3 km/h, compaction depth in asphalt is 20 cm, and a 15-litre water tank feeds the drum wetting system. The water tank is not an accessory — it is what makes this a usable asphalt roller. Hot mix bonds to a dry steel drum, tearing the surface it has just compacted and building up material that ruins subsequent passes. The sprinkler system keeps a film of water on the drum so it releases cleanly, which is the difference between a finished asphalt surface and a damaged one. Fifteen litres gives a practical working period between refills on patching and lane work. The 70 Hz vibratory frequency combined with 16 kN exciting force suits the 20 cm asphalt compaction depth the machine is rated for. Frequency and amplitude together determine how deeply compaction energy penetrates: too little and only the surface densifies, leaving an under-compacted layer beneath that fails early under traffic. The 0–3 km/h travel speed is deliberately slow, because compaction is a function of passes and dwell time rather than ground covered.
