The Baylorr BAY-DDR700 is a walk behind double drum roller delivering 24 kN of centrifugal compaction force — approximately 2.5 tonnes — at 3,600 vpm across two 426 × 650 mm drums, on a 740 kg frame. A 35-litre onboard water tank supports drum wetting during asphalt work. Tandem drum configuration is the reason to choose this machine over a single drum roller. Both drums compact as the machine advances, so each pass covers two drum widths of compacted surface rather than one. On finish courses, where a specified number of passes must be achieved across the full paved area, that halves the time to complete the work. It also improves surface quality: the second drum immediately follows the first over the same material, which produces a smoother, more uniform finish than repeated single-drum passes with the inconsistencies that come from overlap variation. The 35-litre water capacity is more than double the tank on the single drum machine, which matters because a double drum roller needs to wet two drums continuously. Running dry on hot mix means asphalt pick-up, drum build-up and a torn surface — so tank capacity directly determines how long the machine works between refills on a continuous paving run.
